In every chapter I take you through a different piece of the puzzle

What you learn in the book

You learn not only what goes wrong, but above all why, and what you can do to move your body back toward recovery. No loose tips, but insight that builds.

1

How digestion works

You discover how your digestion really works, from the first bite to the final stage in your gut. You learn how organs work together, what happens when one link falters, and why good digestion is the basis of your health.

2

A world inside your gut

You dive into the microbiome: the world of bacteria and micro-organisms in your gut. You learn how they affect your digestion, immune system, energy and even your mood.

3

How your body makes energy

Why are you sometimes worn out, even when you live healthily? You learn how your body makes energy and why fatigue is often a signal, not a coincidence.

4

The effect of food

Food plays a key role in gut issues. You learn why certain foods quietly keep symptoms going, while others bring calm.

5

The influence of stress

Stress affects far more than just your head. You discover how prolonged stress undermines your digestion, energy and your ability to recover.

6

The immune system

You learn why your immune system is not 'working against you', but instead trying to protect you. This chapter shows how food, energy and vitamin D affect inflammation and recovery.

7

My experience with Crohn's disease

In this chapter I share my personal story. From the start of my symptoms and the Crohn's diagnosis to the choices I made on the way to recovery. No theory, but an honest insight.

About the author

Jeroen le Duc

“I know how it feels when your body no longer does what you want it to. You look for answers, but mostly you get medication or advice that changes little.”

After struggling with Crohn's disease myself, I discovered there was more possible than conventional care was telling me. By understanding what was really going on in my body, I recovered my health step by step.

That journey gave me not only my life back, but also a mission. Today, together with a team of seven therapists, we guide people in understanding and recovering from their gut issues.

This book holds everything I have learned. So you do not have to wait for answers.
